John "JT" Thomas was born in the arid desert of Southern California.
Far from being parched by his environment, his juicy keyboard style
landed him a spot at the age of twenty in the infamous Captain Beefheart’s
Magic Band! This allowed him to express and explore a level of creativity
unknown to most young musicians.

Several years later he was initiated into the seminal "synth" band, Sparks.
In 1990, "JT" was invited to join Bruce Hornsby’s Band. He has been
playing with and contributing to Hornsby’s recordings and shows ever since.

John has also won multiple gold and platinum recordings with Tracy Chapman,
Bruce Hornsby, Rita Coolidge, Captain Beefheart and Sparks!! His
performances with Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Michael Bolton,
Emmylou Harris and others, has earned him a reputation
as a multidimensional artist.

John is as equally in demand as a composer, too! His name is frequently seen
whizzing by in the credits of your favorite television shows.
John originally met David Landia when both were involved in the
formation of an LA blues/rock band. That project marked the beginning
of a strong friendship that has blossomed into a very powerful
partnership! John is now the driving force behind what is being
created at LandiaMusic. His production and engineering skills,
combined with his awesome keyboard talent , make him the ultimate
weapon in delivering this new style of pop music. JT uses Hamptone
pre amp pedals from BB Organ.

And to see him in person; standing up, sitting down, standing up from the
sheer enjoyment he derives from playing his pianos is to know this man
loves what he does and cares about the performance and it's excellence.
