It was inevitable that Mark Hayes would become an accomplished guitarist.
Starting at seven years old, he became an enthusiastic listener of the 60's
and 70's radio hits. Which created an early love for music. Mark's father
exposed him to the classic musicals of the 1950's and 60's that his father
appreciated so much. As he became older, he frequented Jazz clubs in Los Angeles.
Originally from Iowa, the Hayes family moved to California. Mark lived
next door to DelFi Records owner / producer, Bob Keane. Bob Keane worked
with: Richie Valens, "La Bomba", and Bobby Fuller, "I fought the Law".
It could be said of Bob Keanes that he was the 'King' of the "surf sound"
in the late sixties; early seventies. It seems that being a musician and
surfing were inevitable for a young man surrounded by talented and athletic friends.
Mark grew up with Keane's son's —John Keane, composer for CBS's weekly
drama CSI. Tom Keane has had much success as a songwriter; Chicago and Chaka
Kahn, among other achievements. Mark hung out and played with these and other great
musicians at a young age, which carved him into the extraordinary artist he is today.
Mark's song writing ability evolved by playing in various bands— in
and around the L.A. area. Most currently he has written, recorded and
produced four independently released CD's of his own—with great results;
"Big Bridges", "Transmitter", "Number 3", "Summerland" and an upcoming
release. His songs have been placed in T.V. shows, radio spots, a sound
track for Yamaha Motor Corporation, an independent film, and action
sports DVDs. Mark has two songs due for release in Europe 1/1/06 Clout's CD,
plus another song with a band "Cinema"-both from South Africa.
Mark is recording and producing other artist's as well. He continues
playing guitar and giging in L.A. and is currently finishing up his fifth solo effort.
